Beacon
Terms of service
The agreement between you and us for using Beacon. Short where it can be, specific where it matters.
Version 1.0. Last updated 19 October 2026.
1. Who the agreement is between
These terms are between PTR Consulting Ltd, trading as PinpointProof ("we", "us"), registered in Northern Ireland under company number NI064282, and the organisation that owns a Beacon workspace ("you", the "customer"). The person who accepts these terms confirms they have authority to bind that organisation. Everyone the customer invites into its workspace is a "user" and agrees to use Beacon in line with these terms.
Where you have signed an order form, pilot agreement or master agreement with us, that document takes precedence over these terms if the two differ.
2. What Beacon is
Beacon is a content and demand generation platform. Within your workspace you can research topics, draft content with AI assistance, route it through an approval gate, schedule and publish to connected channels, share proposals and portals, and track engagement with evidenced records of who approved what and when. The features available to you are those enabled for your plan or pilot.
3. Your workspace and users
- You decide who joins your workspace and what role they hold. Owners can add and remove users and change settings; you are responsible for keeping that list current.
- Sign-in is by a one-time code sent to a user's email. Each user keeps their email account secure and tells us promptly if they believe their access has been misused.
- You are responsible for what users do in your workspace, including the content they approve and publish.
- You will not share access with anyone outside your organisation, or use one user's access for several people, without agreeing it with us first.
4. Content, approvals and AI
Beacon drafts; your people decide. Content is generated from the facts, brand settings and briefs your workspace provides and is checked against your guardrails. Nothing is published until a user with approval rights has approved it. You remain responsible for every piece of content published from your workspace: its accuracy, its compliance with any rules that apply to your sector, and its fairness to the people and firms it mentions.
- AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Review it as you would a draft from a new colleague.
- Do not use Beacon to publish content that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, infringing or that makes a regulated financial promotion without the approvals your regulator requires.
- Only load personal data into Beacon that you are entitled to hold and use for the purpose, and provide the privacy information those people are owed.
- Keep your brand profile, contact address and guardrails accurate, because generated content relies on them.
5. Connected channels and LinkedIn
When you connect a channel you confirm that you are authorised to publish there, for example as an administrator of the LinkedIn Page concerned, and that you will keep to that channel's terms. Beacon publishes to company Pages and other channels you connect using the permissions you grant, and reads back the analytics for the content it published.
For personal LinkedIn profiles Beacon is assisted only: it drafts and queues, and a person makes every send, reaction, connection and message. Beacon does not automate actions on a personal profile and does not scrape LinkedIn. We keep inside the usage limits of each channel's API and may pause publishing for a workspace to protect those limits or a connection, and we tell you when we do.
6. Acceptable use
You will not use Beacon to:
- send unsolicited bulk messages, or contact people who have asked not to be contacted;
- collect or infer special category data about individuals, or profile people in ways that would surprise them;
- attempt to access another workspace, test our security without written permission, or interfere with the service;
- resell or provide Beacon to third parties as a service of your own without an agreement with us;
- upload malicious code, or content you do not have the rights to use.
If we see use that puts other customers, a channel or the service at risk we may suspend the activity concerned, and we will contact you the same day to resolve it.
7. Your data
You own the data you and your users put into your workspace and the content produced from it. You give us the licence we need to host, process, display and transmit that data to provide the service. We act as your processor for the personal data in your workspace under the data processing agreement, which forms part of these terms. Our privacy notice explains the data we hold as controller.
We may use aggregated, anonymised usage statistics (for example, how many posts were approved on first review across all customers) to improve Beacon. These statistics never identify you, your users or your contacts.
You can export your workspace data at any time through the app or by asking us. Records are archived rather than deleted inside a live workspace so that your approval history stays intact; on request we will delete or anonymise specific personal data to meet a data subject's rights.
8. Intellectual property
Beacon, its software, design, prompts, guardrail logic and documentation belong to us and our licensors. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them for your internal business purposes for the term of the agreement. Feedback and feature requests you give us may be used to improve Beacon without obligation to you, and without identifying you.
9. Fees and pilots
- Fees, the billing period and any usage allowances are set out in your order form or plan page. Fees are in pounds sterling, exclusive of VAT, and payable within 30 days of invoice unless agreed otherwise.
- Pilot or early-access workspaces may be provided free of charge or at a reduced fee for an agreed period. At the end of the pilot we agree next steps together; a pilot never converts to a paid plan without your written confirmation.
- Third-party costs that your usage drives directly, such as image generation above an agreed allowance, are shown to you before they are incurred.
- We may change fees for a renewal period by giving at least 60 days' notice before the renewal date.
10. Availability and support
We aim to keep Beacon available around the clock and we schedule maintenance outside UK business hours where we can, with notice in the app. Support is by email at hello@pinpointproof.com and through Ask Beacon in the app, on UK working days, with a first response within one working day. Beacon depends on third-party channels and model providers, and an outage at one of them may limit a feature until it recovers.
11. Confidentiality
Each of us will keep the other's confidential information confidential, use it only for the purposes of the agreement, and protect it with at least the care we give our own. This does not apply to information that is public, already known, independently developed, or that must be disclosed by law. The obligation lasts for five years after the agreement ends, and indefinitely for personal data and trade secrets.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, neither of us is liable to the other for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for indirect or consequential loss. Each party's total liability under the agreement in any 12-month period is limited to the fees paid or payable by you for Beacon in that period, or £1,000 if greater. For a free pilot, that figure is £1,000.
You are responsible for the content you publish and for the data you load into Beacon, and you will cover us for claims that arise from them. We are responsible for Beacon itself, and will cover you for claims that it infringes a third party's intellectual property rights when used as intended.
13. Term and ending the agreement
- The agreement starts when your workspace is created and runs for the period in your order form, renewing for the same period unless either of us gives 30 days' notice before renewal. Month-to-month plans can be ended with 30 days' notice at any time.
- Either of us may end the agreement immediately if the other breaches it materially and does not put it right within 30 days of being asked, or becomes insolvent.
- On ending, you have 30 days to export your data. We then archive the workspace and delete our copy of its personal data within 90 days, keeping only what the law requires us to keep.
- Clauses about data, intellectual property, confidentiality, liability and governing law continue after the agreement ends.
14. General
- We may update these terms. For a material change we give workspace owners at least 30 days' notice by email; continued use after that date is acceptance. If you do not agree, you may end the agreement before the change takes effect and we will refund any prepaid fees for the unused period.
- Neither of us is responsible for delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, provided we tell the other and work to limit the effect.
- Neither of us may transfer the agreement without the other's consent, except to a successor of the whole business on notice.
- These terms are the whole agreement between us on this subject and replace earlier discussions. If a clause is found unenforceable the rest still applies.
- These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and the courts of Northern Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either of us may seek an injunction in any court to protect confidential information or intellectual property.
